Bettye A. Grable

Dr. Bettye A. Grable joined the SJGC faculty in 2006 as an associate professor. She teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses. During her 20-year career as a media practitioner, Grable has been a journal writer for the Florida House of Representatives, promotions director for WSRZ radio in Sarasota, Fla., television host for the public affairs television show "FAMU Today," and the director of public information at Manatee Community College. Her research interests includes: understanding the reception, influence and utility of television content on diverse audiences; and the intersection of journalism and historical events. Dr. Grable has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from the University of Florida, a Master of Science degree in Journalism from Florida A&M University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Public Affairs and Mass Communication from Louisiana State University.
