Ansley Simmons

Ansley Simmons works as a visual artist, communicator, & educator pulling from nearly 20 years of practice including experience in primary and secondary education, higher education at both the university and community college level, and within non-profit organizations & government. Her research interests focus on leadership development for creative industries, community outreach and engagement, curriculum design, arts administration & visual communication education, and internship training programs.

In addition to an MFA specializing in photography, graphic design, and exhibition design, she holds a doctorate in Art Education with specializations in Arts Administration and Art Museum Education at Florida State University. Her dissertation research developed evidence-based literature on current practices within academic art museum internship programs by describing the programs from the perspective of museum administrators using a curriculum framework.

Dr. Simmons is also a visual communicator with experience creating and working with marketing campaigns, branding, and content creation (print, web, and social media) in the private, public, and government sectors. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor teaching graphics and photography.
