CBS News Intern Fellowship

CBS News is now accepting applications for the "CBS News Intern Fellowship" program for journalism, broadcasting, or communications students. The deadline to apply is February 21st, 2019. The paid Fellowship is designed to attract aspiring journalists from a wide range of racial, ethnic, economic, age and geographic diversities, as well as candidates with disabilities. The Fellows will serve in New York City for ten-weeks in one of the many CBS News departments, such as 60 Minutes, CBS Evening News and 48 Hours. CBS provides lodging, an hourly wage to cover meals, transportation and a round-trip ticket to New York.

Digital Content Manager

WTVM in Columbus, Georgia is seeking a full time Digital Content Manager to help lead our daily and long-term efforts on our website, mobile, OTT and social media platforms.

The ideal candidate must have a great understanding of news for both broadcast and digital and also be creative, enthusiastic, a problem solver, a team player, and a leader. Candidate must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, a journalism background with excellent web writing skills and be proficient in AP style. Must be able to multi-task and manage employee performance on digital platforms. Candidate must also be familiar with and willing to communicate with viewers through our digital platforms.

The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated and driven to succeed and have a proven track record of success across social media, digital, and mobile platforms. Must be able to work well with engineering, marketing and sales departments. A College degree in Journalism or a related field is required. Three or more years of real newsroom experience required, with at least one year as a manager or in a leadership position preferred. Basic knowledge of Photoshop, digital video editing, brand management programs and content management software is also a plus.

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join the No. 1 news team in West Tennessee.

The candidate must be committed to “owning” breaking news and severe weather. He or she needs to be a self-starter who will come to the table with daily story ideas. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about storytelling through strong reporting, video, use of natural sound, solid writing and editing skills.

As an MMJ, you must be able to succeed as a “one-man band.” Candidates need to be committed to “owning” the story and being a leader in breaking news/severe weather coverage. Position requires candidates to develop their own “beats” and sources. Must be able to carry 40 pounds of gear and have a clean driving record.

A four-year degree in broadcast journalism, communications or related field is preferred. A positive attitude and strong work ethic are key to being the right candidate for us.

Through a partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Boeing intends to develop and inspire future innovators from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

The Boeing Immersion is a highly competitive program that will bring the brightest freshmen and sophomores from Boeing’s partner HBCUs together for a three-day, comprehensive introduction to the company. Facilitated by Boeing leaders and the HBCU strategy team, this program will provide students with increased knowledge and awareness of Boeing products and services.
