Donovan Long named Michigan Association of Broadcasters Best News Anchor for 2020

Over the past few months our alumni from the Florida A&M School of Journalism and Graphic Communication have continually made headlines for their accomplishments in the field. Recently , Donovan Long a graduate from SJGC was named the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Best News Anchor for 2020 in the Commercial Television Market 2 category.

He won for work his work with WOOD-TV8 as a Weekend Daybreak anchor/reporter. He joined the TV8 team in July 2019. Long is also a two-time Emmy and Associated Press award-winning journalism.

Prior to winning his award Long was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder after a car accident in 2018. After this crash he spent the next 11 months learning to run and walk but now stands tall as an inspiration for his hard work and dedication to return to form and to the news desk.

He is also a proud member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
